When I visited Seattle with my 7-year-old daughter, I had the unexpected opportunity to experience Chi Nei Tsang for the first time with Ms. Ueda. It was a completely new experience for me.
As the treatment progressed, my mind wandered to the moments before my daughter’s birth. I vividly relived the dim hospital room light, the labor pain, and my desperate efforts on the delivery table. Ms. Ueda’s calming voice saying, “Inhale… Exhale…” overlapped with the voice of the midwife from back then.
Although my daughter was safely delivered naturally, she was born underweight and in mild distress. She was immediately placed in an incubator, separated from me, without being held to my chest. Physically exhausted and confused, I was deeply emotionally unsettled. Those raw memories resurfaced clearly during the session.
As the session ended, my daughter climbed onto me from the corner of the room, hugging me tightly. Tears began to flow as I hugged her back. For the first time, I felt I could embrace her feelings, saying, “I’m sorry I couldn’t hold you immediately after you were born. You must have been so scared, and that’s why you felt anxious when we were apart.”
Since returning to Japan, my daughter’s emotional growth has been remarkable. Her childhood separation anxiety has vanished, and she now confidently navigates school life and friendships. My own feelings of worry have transformed into trust. The separation anxiety I once experienced as a child but was never acknowledged by my mother seems to have silently carried forward into adulthood—and likely passed down to my daughter. Chi Nei Tsang has helped break this cycle of suppressed negative energy within my family. When I visit Seattle again, I hope to experience Ms. Ueda’s Chi Nei Tsang treatment once more. That experience during our Seattle trip was a life-changing turning point for me and my daughter. Thank you so much! (M, Chiba Prefecture resident)
